RID/NAD NIC Written Test Preparation

Taught by Tara Potterveld, MA, CI/CT, SC:L, this course is designed for interpreters, both CODAs and Second-Language Learners, planning to take the RID written test to qualify for the new NIC Certification Exam. This course will focus on the 10 tasks RID expects interpreters to know which include the following:

  • Assessing interpreting situations to determine if qualified for assignment
  • Determining logistics and purpose of interaction
  • Maintaining competence in the field of interpreting
  • Apply the Code of Ethics for the interpreting professional
  • Providing interpreting services that reflect awareness and sensitivity to culturally ethically diverse groups
  • Understanding the Linguistics of ASL

Class costs: $60
